Differences of the Heckler & Koch PSP and P7 pistols

PSP

Heckler & Koch PSP

This was the first type of P7 pistols on the market after the squeeze cocking lever pistol was introduced in 1979. This version could be easily identified. It carries a 12mm wide magazine which does not flush with the frame (see picture).

P7

Heckler & Koch P7

The P7 was the successor of the PSP. To eliminate the possibility to loose the magazine while the magazine catch get caught the H&K engineers made the magazine catch flush with the frame (18mm wide magazine catch). The rounded and magazine catch which flushs with the bottom of the frame is the easiest feature to differ these two generations (see picture on the right).
